Just hanging out
Lauren and I have not been up to much lately. Monday was grocery shopping day and laundry. Today it was so cold out that we didn't leave the house. We did have a friend come over to play but that was it. Some how not doing anything wore Lauren and I out and we both took really long naps. It was nice! The picture below is Lauren sitting at the table after breakfast lining up all of her Pooh and friends on her plate.

Valentine's day part 2
So I realized after reading my first Valentine's day post that I forgot to mention my Valentine. My wonderful husband. He gave me the greatest gift...sleep! He let me sleep in both Saturday and Sunday. It was wonderful. He also made me a delicious meal and then when it wasn't really what I wanted he let me order a meal on Sunday. Oh and not to mention...I made him run out of the house with me that morning so we could sit in the doctor's office forever so I could make sure the rash my daughter had that morning was nothing serious and then he of course was with us on the Krispy Kreme adventure (see the Valentine's day post below). Thank you sweet Valentine for being so wonderful!!

Winnie the Pooh....I think?
I should learn but I guess I'm a slow learner. I was so excited b/c I heard that Winnie the Pooh was going to be at Barnes and Noble. I told Lauren all about it and she was so excited. We headed down there all dressed in her cute outfit ready to meet Winnie the Pooh. Well, when he walked out Lauren was frightened. First he looked more like a big bear vs. Winnie the Pooh. He didn't talk and could hardly walk around all the kids at his feet. Lauren didn't want anything to do with him. Oh well, at least I get an A for trying (again).
Valentine's day cake
I had so much fun this Valentine's day. Lauren and I made a strawberry cake. She was a terrific helper. It was so great to lick the bowl with my daughter. I can remember doing that with my Mom and sister when I was younger. I also thought it would be a good day to go to Krispy Kreme to get donuts and while we were there we could watch the donuts being made. Well...apparently Valentine's day is THE DAY to go to Krispy Kreme. I had no idea. But they make their donuts in the shape of hearts on this day and everyone in town has to have them. So we waited in line fo a pretty long time. But once you walk in the store and smell the donuts you can't leave with out having one. Luckily they gave us some sprinkled covered donuts while we waited in line. We also got Lauren a pair of binoculars for her present. She loved them. It was so funny to watch her walking around with them.
Playdate at our house
Here are Lauren, Garrett, Ethan and Paige at our house last week for a playdate. I loved how the three older ones were able to sit together at Lauren's little table. In a few months Paige will be big enough to join them! Thank you all for coming over to play!

Miss independent
If you are at our house and you can't find Lauren you can usually find her in our kitchen with the refrigerator door swung wide open and she is trying to open a juice box. Every time I see her doing this I see a flash foward to when she is a teenager standing in front of the refrigerator and yelling "Mom there's nothing to eat".
Community Bible Study (CBS)
I started taking a community bible study class each week. Lauren goes with me and has her own class she attends. Her is one of the crafts she made one week. It has a bible verse on it (Love one another) which she has memorized. It is so great. The other picture is of her holding her CBS folder. She carries it like a purse in to class. I love it!
Playdough
Our new favorite past time is playdough. Thank you to everyone who gave us playdough. Lauren has to play with it at least two times a day. It cracks me up because we have so much and we have to get it all out everytime. I enjoy playdough but I am finding colorful little pieces of it all over the house. I'm trying to cope!
Warm weather!
Today was great because it was finally warm outside. Lauren and I went to a playground this morning. As I was sliding down the slide with her I realized how wonderful it is that I get to be at home with her. I couldn't imagine missing out on fun times like the ones we had today. Brian also wanted to enjoy the nice weather with us so he took a 1/2 day from work. We took Lauren to Maymont to see all the animals. We asked her to go stand next to the sheep and she said she couldn't because she was to shy. It was cute.

The joys of having children
So no pictures tonight b/c the topic is nose picking. I'm sorry to include this but it is just so cute that I had to share. Basically Lauren has discovered nose picking. Brian and I are constantly telling her to take her finger out of her nose. One day when I told her this she said "but I love picking my nose". It was too cute!

A night out
The slide
We have been looking for a slide for Lauren ever since we went to my friend Kelley's house one weekend and she had this great slide that Lauren loved. We have looked and looked and could only find ones that were a little to small for her. Finally this past weekend we found one on CraigsList. We were so excited. We went on Saturday to look at it and it was perfect. We brought it home and Lauren played on it for hours. I wish we could have found this earlier. She already goes forward, backwards, climb up the slide part, and goes down on her belly. She is definitely fearless. That is not something she gets from me.
Dora!
The other day I received an email from the Children's museum (one that goes out to all the members) and it said if you reply to this email and you are one of the first 100 to reply you are invited to come and meet Dora. Well I thought that sounded terrific. I replied and was in the top 100 so we were invited to go on Friday morning. They said to get there at 11:00. Brian took an early lunch break and met us down there. We were so excited. Well I have to say I was excited. I don't think Lauren really even cared. At this stage of her life she doesn't even know Dora all that well. I thought once we were there she would really get in to it. I was wrong. I was wrong b/c there was a line that zig zagged in and out full of parents and children. We waited and waited (45 mins in total). Lauren was not sure what we were doing. In addition she decided she would poop in her diaper while we were standing in the line. Finally we made it up to meet Dora (and Diego). Lauren didn't want to get near them. The picture above is the only one we got and also the closest Lauren got to them. I have to say we did get one thing out of it. A lesson learned about taking 2 year olds to stand in long lines to meet strange people. Don't do it!
